To Jesus
Where there is light there is hope.
Where there is friendship -
peace and truth.
You're a strong tower of love,
shining brightly through the night...
Upon the hill at Randles Station
as I view a circling light
in the world
In the warm glow
I will think of you -

In 2007 the Postal Service honored the West Coast with the lighthouse postage stamps above.
Tim Harrison, Chief Editor of the Lighthouse Digest published a story (March 2007) about Randles Lighthouse. You missed it, if you didn't subscribe! I know I will treasure this very valuable issue. It is an excellent memorial issue to Kenneth Black, "Mr. Lighthouse." Much of the profit from this magazine goes to saving our lighthouses. An interesting story in the June issue shows the photo below of the Miller Lighthouse. "Doe Valley Lake is a 360-acre lake with 12 miles of shoreline. The lighthouse was built by Patrick W. Miller to help him locate his dock after dark. The tower has three levels with interior ladders-- two levels for recreational activities/storage and the lantern level." The lighthouse near Brandenburg, Kentucky was built in 2006 and is not open to the public. The story of finding light in the darkness was the inspiration for my poetry below.

Finding My Way In This World
Just when I'm sure I know my life's direction,
I lose my way, my open eyes struck blind
By visions of - enormous imperfection
That led me to believe I knew God's mind.
Alone and lost, my hands grasp empty air,
Uncertain and afraid of what they'll find,
Until they find each other clasped in prayer,
And I find Jesus where he's always been.
Sweet Savior, in the midst of my despair
You touch my eyes, and I can see again.
Healed by the power of your perfect love
Whose light is brighter than the darkest sin.
